There are roughly two types of air pollutants widely present in indoor air: particulate pollutants and gaseous pollutants.

All IQAir HealthPro series purifiers utilize IQAir's proprietary super-efficient particle-pollutant filtration technologies including the particle pre-filter PreMax and the main particle filter HyperHEPA.

IQAir HealthPro Plus air purifier, in addition to PreMax and HyperHEPA filters, also includes the V-5 Cell gas & odor filter which removes gaseous pollutants as well.

Design & Construction Quality

IQAir air purifiers feature a unique, highly efficient design which is a crucial part of their outstanding performance.

Here is how each HealthPro unit works:

  Air is drawn into the system through dual arches positioned at the very bottom of each unit

• The air then goes through several stages of filtration (pre-filter, gas & odor filter (if applicable), main filter)

• The air is expelled out of the very top of the unit into the room

This design prevents so-called shortcutting which means saving the unit's cleaning capacity for purifying polluted air from the room and not allowing the freshly purified air to get re-drawn into the unit and go through the filtration process again.

IQAir's triple-seal design also prevents internal air leaks. This means the air doesn't by-pass the filters inside the unit, and insures the highest possible efficiency of air filtration.

IQAir design allows each filter to be replaced independently of each other. This is a big advantage over many other air cleaners which require all the filters to be changed simultaneously, in a bundle, even if some of the filters may not have yet reached their end-lives.

Other Functionality

IQAir air purification technology has been certified 100% ozone-free and therefore totally safe. Ozone is a lung irritant which is typically emitted by ionic air cleaners.

The filters have reasonable lifespans depending, of course, on the state of the environment they'll be used to purify.

Filter average lifespans:

• V5-Cell filter (if applicable): 1 – 2 years

• HyperHEPA filter: 2 – 4 years

IQAir air purifiers work at reasonable noise levels during operation while at the same time delivering significant volumes of clean air (measured in cubic feet per minute). The noise issue is a very important one, especially for those who are planning to use their units in the bedroom.

Each unit consumes 85 – 215 watts an hour from lowest to highest speed which is quite acceptable for the quality of work delivered.
